Vision of Indojazz Night Raga
Yatra is a journey of peace, love & joy, bringing people, cultures & nations closer through the universality of music. The compositions reflect the social surrounding and circumstances prevalent and are based on Indian Classical Ragas with inherent contemporary jazz harmonies in symmetrical and asymmetrical rhythmic structures. The Ragas used for the compositions are Lalit, Kirwani, Misra Tilang,Yaman Kalyan, Desh, Todi, Shree, Brindavan Sarang and Sindhu Bhairav, each having varied emotions and feelings in an underlying theme which is improvised and developed allowing the stream of consciousness to take over.
Arthur is the originator of the Indo-jazz genre and his newly designed 18 stringed Indojazz guitar adds a new dimension to the sounds with its tuning and different technique that inspires him to find new concepts and phrases in combination with the Mridangam, Ganjira (Hand percussion) Ghatam (Earthen pot ) and the acoustic double bass.
The music in this album portrays the beauty, mystery and the diversity the world has to offer.
